Form W-4
Description
Form W-4 is completed when you start a new job in order for your employer to determine how much tax to withhold from your paycheck. You can resubmit a new W-4 at any time to your employer if you want to increase or decrease the amount of tax withheld. Form W-4 has a worksheet to help you calculate the number of withholding allowances you should claim on Form W-4. The more withholding allowances you claim, the less tax your employer will withhold from your paycheck. Generally, if a new event in your life occurs such as marriage, divorce, new-born baby, or purchase of a home, you would probably want to submit a new W-4.
